HOXB13 is a homeobox gene located on
chromosome 17q21, an area harboring a number
of genes involved in breast carcinogenesis, and:
- Is frequently over-expressed in breast cancer.1
- Is negatively regulated by estrogen signaling
in breast cancer cells.6
- Promotes cell motility and invasive properties
when over-expressed.1
- Predicts decreased likelihood of benefit from
endocrine therapy when expressed.4,5
- Is oncogenic.9
- Inhibits tamoxifen-induced apoptosis.10
IL17BR is a gene located at 3p21, a chromosomal
region frequently lost in cancer, including
breast cancer, and:
- Predicts functionality of estrogen-signaling
pathway when high.1
- Has immunoregulatory activity.
