Products & Services

AviaraDx offers, through its CLIA certified laboratory, tissue based molecular diagnostic tests that provide valuable diagnostic and prognostic information enabling the clinician to select individualized therapy regimens.

Aviara CancerTYPE ID®- Molecular Classification of Metastatic Cancer

  • CancerTYPE ID® - molecular classification of metastatic cancer guides the physician in differential diagnosis and identification of the primary cancer site
  • CancerTYPE ID® guides the selection of confirmatory immunohistological and imaging procedures
  • CancerTYPE ID® utilizes small formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) core biopsy samples
  • CancerTYPE ID® has been shown to have a success rate of 87% in classifying 39 tumor types (Ma et al. 2006) and provides clinicians with critical information to select the most appropriate treatment regimens for their patients

Aviara H/ISM - Assessing Endocrine Responsiveness in Early Breast Cancer

  • H/ISM - is a two gene test used to stratify estrogen receptor positive (ER+) breast cancer patients into low or high risk of cancer recurrence
  • H/ISM applies novel biomarkers, HOXB13 and IL17BR; both biomarkers are controlled by estrogen and provide information about estrogen signaling in ER+ breast cancer
  • H/ISM utilizes small formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) biopsy material including fine needle biopsies, analyzed by RT-PCR
  • H/ISM has been validated in multiple clinical studies (see publications) in more than 2,300 patient samples; studies included both untreated and endocrine therapy treated patients
  • H/ISM - has been shown to be independent of ER/PR, tumor size, tumor grade or proliferation genes

Aviara MGISM - Molecular Tumor Grading to Improve Breast Cancer Management

AviaraDx has developed a 5-gene expression index used to stratify breast cancer patients into low or high risk of recurrence.

  • MGI – allows quantitative and objective molecular assessment of tumor grade and proliferation rate.
  • MGI – discriminates between tumor grades 1 and 3 and reclassifies grade 2 tumors into two distinct groups1:
    — Low MGI – low risk of recurrence, Grade 1-like
    — High MGI – high risk of recurrence, Grade 3-like

MGI is prognostic for estrogen receptor (ER) positive patients regardless of nodal status.1 The five genes of MGI are preferentially expressed in7:

  • High grade > low grade tumors.
  • Invasive tumors > ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).
  • Different phases and processes of the cell cycle.
